Tampa BayWatch – My Thoughts on the Bucs

Eminem from Minnesota ?

It looks as though the Bucs are looking to fill the holes left by Cadillac Williams and Luke Petitgout with veteran talent from Minnesota. There are rumours circulating that the Bucs are interested in left tackle Bryant McKinnie and running back Mewelde Moore of the Vikings. Certainly at LT we look exposed with the only two likely starters being Donald Penn or last years starter Anthony Davis. Looking at Moore is more of a surprise as I thought the Bucs may have activated Kenneth Darby from the practice squad to fill that #3 RB role. Moore has seen his chances limited at the Vikings since they drafted Adrian Peterson in this years draft. McKinnie is currently the starting LT for the Vikes so I would assume that it’s going to take a fairly decent package of picks for the Vikes to trade away McKinnie.

I’m hoping that the Bucs don’t make a hurried decision that the franchise regrets in a few seasons, however I understand that it’s important to maintain the momentum that this team has built up over the past 4 weeks and the addition of Moore and McKinnie might just help that continue.

However, I read this morning that the Bucs have brought in Kenneth Darby and Dennis Roland.

The practice squad quickly got replacements at those spots, too, as the Bucs signed a pair of first-year players, running back DonTrell Moore and tackle Ryan Gibbons. The team also swapped out one more of its eight practice squad slots, releasing cornerback Marcus Hamilton and re-signing wide receiver Chad Lucas. Buccaneers.com
